The Jade Plant is a succulent shrub that, with proper care and time, can grow into a small, tree-like form with a thick trunk and a branching canopy.It can reach heights of 3 to 6 feet in a container, and much larger in its native habitat.The stems are thick and woody, turning brown with age, while the young branches are a soft green.
The leaves are its most prominent feature: they are thick, glossy, and a vibrant jade-green color. They are typically oval-shaped and can develop a reddish tint on their edges when exposed to bright sunlight or cooler temperatures, adding to their visual appeal.
Mature Jade Plants, especially when grown outdoors, can produce clusters of small, star-shaped, white or pale pink flowers in the fall and winter. These blooms are a lovely sight and can fill the air with a sweet fragrance.
Growing Tips
The Jade Plant is a fantastic low-maintenance plant, but a few key tips will ensure it thrives and grows into a beautiful specimen.
Sunlight: The Jade Plant loves bright light. For the best growth and color, provide at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. A south or west-facing window is ideal. While it can tolerate lower light, it may become leggy and the leaves will be less vibrant.
Fertilizing: Feed the plant sparingly. During its active growing season (spring and summer), you can apply a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer once every two months. Avoid fertilizing in the fall and winter when the plant is dormant.
Pruning: Pruning is beneficial to maintain a compact, tree-like shape and to encourage a bushier appearance.You can prune off leggy stems and leaves at any time of the year.The cuttings can be used for propagation.
Temperature and Hardiness
The Jade Plant prefers warm, dry conditions and is not frost-tolerant.
Temperature: It thrives in average room temperatures between 65°F and 75°F (18°C to 24°C).
Hardiness Zones: It is hardy in USDA zones 10-11. In colder climates, it is best grown as a houseplant and moved outdoors during the warm summer months.
Water Requirements
Overwatering is the most common cause of problems with Jade Plants. They are highly drought-tolerant and store water in their leaves and stems.
Watering Frequency: Use the "soak and dry" method. Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again. The leaves may feel soft or slightly wrinkled when the plant is thirsty. Water thoroughly and deeply, allowing all excess water to drain from the bottom of the pot.
Seasonal Changes: Reduce watering significantly in the cooler, dormant months of fall and winter.
Soil Preparation
Well-draining soil is essential to prevent root rot.
Ideal Mix: A commercial succulent or cactus potting mix is a perfect choice.
DIY Mix: You can create your own gritty mix by combining regular potting soil with inorganic amendments like perlite, coarse sand, or pumice. A mix with at least 50% inorganic material is recommended for optimal drainage.
Potting: Always use a pot with a drainage hole. Terracotta or clay pots are an excellent choice as their porous nature helps to wick away excess moisture.
Propagation
Propagating the Jade Plant is incredibly easy and has a very high success rate.
Stem Cuttings: This is the fastest and most common method.
Using a clean, sharp knife or clippers, take a stem cutting that has at least two leaf nodes.
Allow the cutting to "callous over" or dry out for a few days to a week. This prevents rot.
Plant the cutting in a pot with well-draining succulent soil.
Water sparingly until roots have formed.
Leaf Cuttings: You can also grow a new plant from a single leaf.
Gently twist a healthy, plump leaf from the stem.
Allow the leaf to callous for a few days.
Lay the leaf on top of well-draining soil. Roots and a tiny new plant will eventually emerge from the base of the leaf. Be patient, as this can take several weeks or months.
I really enjoyed the simplicity of this book. I've made a lot of bookmarks. It's a lot of information I was already familiar with, but phrased in simple and relatable ways. Also a lot of things I didn't think about, like sound and energy. I enjoyed the examples on how to do some of these steps, and simple things you can do every day, like micro changes, to make positive change easier.

Unlocking Higher Wisdom: Amazing Insights from Melissa Feick’s Transformative Guide

When I was searching for material on Akashic Records, the book that caught my attention more than any other was “A Radical Approach to the Akashic Records: Master Your Life and Raise Your Vibration,” by Melissa Feick. Melissa has studied Metaphysics for most of her life, and has been teaching Metaphysical classes for over 20 years. She has been an intuitive channeler, healer, and Akashic Records reader for over 22 years.
The first thing to know about this book is that Melissa draws a clear distinction between “earth” Akashic Records and “quantum field” Akashic Records. The Earth's Akashic Records are probably the ones you have heard about. In readings from them, you find out things about your past lives on Earth and how experiences and actions from the past may be affecting you now.
In contrast to the Earth Records, the Quantum Akashic Records include not only the Earth, but also everything in the Universe – past, present, and future. They are living records that contain limitless possibilities of creation. And instead of just looking at individual earth lifetimes, the Quantum Records help you identify patterns and heal issues over many lifetimes at once. Quantum Records can also be used for physical healings, manifesting, and connecting to Divine Love.
I can see why Melissa called her book “a radical approach”. She busted several myths about the Akashic Records that I had bought into---like: that only someone who is a psychic or a channeler can access the records. According to Melissa, with a little instruction, anyone can access the Akashic Records in the quantum field. The book gives you a process for accessing the Quantum Akashic Records for self-exploration and healing, as well as how to do readings for others.
Another myth she busted for me concerned life purpose. Her angle is that there is a basic, collective life purpose that underlies all individual ones. She says that everyone’s basic life purpose is to evolve, to live from their higher self, and enjoy multidimensional life. We don’t all have separate life purposes – we just fulfill them in different ways, depending on our talents and proclivities.
I know for myself, I was beginning to wonder “What is my life purpose and what should I be “doing” more (or less) of.” So, it was a relief to read this book, and find that just living my life and growing in the wisdom of knowing more and more about the Self can be enough.
Karma, according to Melissa, is not something that we are being punished for (another busted myth); it’s just a past situation that needs to be disentangled. The process the book teaches also includes how to disentangle your past karma and your triggered emotions so you can experience higher planes of existence.
When you’ve done that, you can transcend your karma and are then able to manifest your desires more easily and spontaneously. This is because the quantum field is the source of creation, and with Melissa’s process, you work at that basic source level.
She discusses several different aspects of karma. The book also dives into the role of “ascension” (growth toward enlightenment), the “planes of existence”, the “toroidal field”, and the “egoic brain”. All these subjects come into play when accessing and working with the quantum Akashic Records. And many chapters conclude with a guided meditation to integrate the material.
Melissa’s mission is to support you on your spiritual path and to help you feel more empowered and in love with life. Her passion is “Ascension” and expanding the consciousness of the planet by supporting the spiritual community. She is an open channel to the Ascension frequencies and sacred Light Codes and loves to share that wisdom with others.

Prior to reading this book I had no background with the Akashic Records. Years ago a synchronicity brought me to learning about souls, life between lives, and reincarnation, and this information was life changing as I had always been looking for answers to the questions:
Why are we here?
Where did we come from?
Where are we going?
But simply knowing the basic answers to these questions was not enough to totally transform my life.
